Valentine Cards for Girls

October 13, 2014 by Dangerously-Delicious.com

Valentine’s Day becomes much more exciting when you have kids. That’s my opinion anyway. There are so many fun ways to celebrate with your children, especially when they are school age. I have loved creating Valentine cards with them and decorating Valentine boxes. Here are a couple cards I have created with my daughter for school…

Blow a Kiss Valentine

For her 1st grade Valentine card, I took pictures of her blowing kisses. She totally loves putting on lip gloss (and maybe a little mascara) to take pictures. I didn’t want the photos to be too romantic for a 6 year old, so I added a fun big cheesy smile of her at the end. I think it takes the serious out and adds some quirkiness to it. Once I printed out the pictures onto card stock, I attached Hershey Kisses. I simply put a few chocolates into a Ziplock and taped it to the back. The candies hung a couple inches under the card. Super cute! The cards, by the way, I had printed at Office Depot for cents. It beats having them printed and shipped to you. I then just use my nifty paper trimmer to cut the cards out.

Cupid Valentine Card 2

These next 2 pictures were taken for her 2nd grade year. I was trying to capture her as Cupid. I think we did a pretty good job. I bought the bow & arrow and angel wings from Party City. I painted the bow red and arrow pink. We went to a secluded equestrian park with overgrown trees and lots of green space. It was a perfect location. I used the bottom picture here for the actual card she passed out. Again, I had the cards printed at Office Depot and attached Hershey Kisses to the back of the card using this CupidKissesPDF as treat bag toppers. You’ll notice little hearts inside a pink circle in the file, those are Kisses dots. You can punch those out using a 3/4 inch hole punch and glue them to the bottom of a Hershey Kiss for added detail. They fit perfectly!

So go be creative and have fun making memories with your kids on Valentine’s Day! Don’t let them wait to experience it when they have a boyfriend or girlfriend.

It can be fun and exciting now!!

Dangerously Delicious

My name is Crystal Dangerfield and I am so excited to bring you tried and true recipes that my whole family and I enjoy together. I love being in the kitchen and trying new recipes. Of course we have our favorites, but my kids are pretty good sports about trying new things. I refuse to buy ready-made frozen meals and refrain from fast food. My kids do not know what a “happy meal” is and I want to keep it that way! My husband was diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease several years ago and I have had to learn how to alter recipes into gluten free versions that the whole family still loves.
