Turkey Lettuce Wraps

April 4, 2016 by Dangerously-Delicious.com

The whole family will enjoy these Turkey Lettuce Wraps and never know it’s a skinny recipe. The Southwest flavor of this meat is bold without being spicy for the little ones.  It’s an easy 15 minute meal you can whip up and feel good about. Avoid the drive-thru!  No premade seasoning packets, msg or greasy taco shells, just natural flavors and spices, bright-colored vegetables all wrapped in a fresh, crispy taco”shell”.

Turkey Wraps

My kids were a little skeptical the first time I made this recipe. They were not keen on replacing taco shells for lettuce “shells”. However, once they made their own creation and took a bite, they were in love! By the end of the meal, they had all cleared their plates and were at the stove eating the meat out of the skillet with a fork. I can honestly say all my kids are fans of this recipe!

Turkey Lettuce Wraps

This is how MY lettuce wraps look, but I do give my kids additional options like black olives, cheese and sour cream. You could always use plain Greek yogurt as a healthy alternative for the sour cream. I bet they’ll never know!!

Made this tonight, really yummy! Thanks for the recipe! I left out the 1/4 c of water just cause there was already plenty of liquid in the pan. I also used iceberg lettuce as the wrap, but i think the Romane lettuce would taste better. But it was so good!

Dangerously Delicious

My name is Crystal Dangerfield and I am so excited to bring you tried and true recipes that my whole family and I enjoy together. I love being in the kitchen and trying new recipes. Of course we have our favorites, but my kids are pretty good sports about trying new things. I refuse to buy ready-made frozen meals and refrain from fast food. My kids do not know what a “happy meal” is and I want to keep it that way! My husband was diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease several years ago and I have had to learn how to alter recipes into gluten free versions that the whole family still loves.
