These dessert bars are by far one of my favorite desserts to serve. Really it’s selfish of me to make them “for company” because it’s my own craving I’m fulfilling. (the truth comes out) This dessert is even better than a key lime pie because it has double the amount of a crumbly, buttery crust to sink your teeth into. Oh and did I mention the’re easy? So easy!
Start by preparing your crumbly mixture. Press half of it to the bottom of your baking dish.
Squeeze out your limes (lemons are amazing here too! Can’t go wrong with either one). You want a 1/2 cup of juice. Mix with 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Then lick the inside of the can. You must not let any of that stuff go to waste! Pour on top of your pressed crust.
Top with the remaining crumbly mixture and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool and place in refrigerator. Serve cold.
And that’s it! So simple yet so heavenly!
