Forget Aunt Jemima! This is the most amazing syrup you will ever place on your pancakes or waffles! You will be licking your plate and fingers clean, I’m not exaggerating people. It’s crazy good! Try it for yourself and see!
Having 5 children can be a challenge. Sometimes it can be absolutely overwhelming. To most, it would just throw them over the edge. Having 5 kids ages eight to one is a lot of little bodies to watch over. My 5th child, my little Mia girl, has definitely given me a run for my money. While I was pregnant with her I use to say she was gonna have to try to keep up with us, boy was I wrong! We are trying to keep up with her. Never have I had a child like her! She is my monkey, my Houdini, my gymnast and my strongest willed child. And go figure she is my last. I have never had to deal with a child that can escape from her high chair or car seat (both with a 5 point seatbelt), unlock doors and get out of the house or dive head first into the couch while standing on the top! Seriously?! She started all this at 14 months old!
She was my earliest walker at 9 months, so definitely moving on to bigger and better things has been her goal. Months ago, she started opening the door to the garage and exploring. We have found her trying on shoes, playing inside the van and trying to ride her sister’s scooter. All this while we are all searching for her inside. Stinker!
Forget about eating peacefully in her high chair. She must roam around while she eats. Maybe she will come sit on your lap, maybe she will stand on a chair at the table… heck, she will try to stand ON the table while she eats. Did I mention I’ve never had a child like her? I can’t even buckle her in the high chair because SHE CAN GET OUT!! Ugh!!
We have found her standing on top of the roof of a Little Tykes truck, playing in a draining tub of water with her pajamas ON and undressing for our church congregation on Sunday. As hilarious as all of this is, it can be scary too! I’m always anticipating a trip to the ER with her. Miraculously, it hasn’t happened YET. I really do believe she is totally meant to be here with us. After she managed to come unplanned, sustain many intrauterine bleeds and come into this world with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and arm… Heavenly Father has a plan for her and she is here to accomplish something remarkable!
Switch up your typical maple syrup for this Homemade Buttermilk Syrup and you will NEVER want the store-bought stuff again. Double the recipe if you like, it keeps well in fridge. This recipe is seriously THE BOMB!! May I recommend using Trader Joe’s coconut pancake mix with this syrup? Heavenly! Or Cinnamon Bun Pancakes using this syrup instead of the cream cheese glaze… you can’t go wrong!
