Calling all pie lovers! Have you ever made an apple pie in a bag? If you answered NO then you are missing out! This super moist and delicious pie is baked inside a paper bag to ensure a gooey center with the most tender apples and a sweet and crispy streusel topping. Serve it with a side of vanilla ice cream for sheer perfection!
I know it’s not officially Fall yet, especially here in South Florida where we just escaped a our first potential Hurricane, but I’m getting anxious dang it! The Fall decor is out in full swing in the stores and I’m looking forward to some cooler weather already. I’m ready for a change from these HOT Summer days. Smelling this apple pie baking in the oven made me forget all about Hurricane Erika, the craziness from the first week of school, homework and the screaming child coming from somewhere inside the house. I just didn’t care… for about 30 seconds and then I had to snap back into reality. Ugh. Next time I’ll be sure to bake it when the kids are in school so I can get the full effect of pure bliss from a freshly baked apple pie.
This is THE best apple pie that I have ever made. Super moist, perfectly tender apples throughout and a sweet and crispy streusel topping that is incredible! I must admit, I was doubtful about the effect of the brown paper bag. I know now that it totally made a difference! No doubt. And served al a mode, this pie is perfection! Start saving your large paper bags so you can sink your teeth into this pie! We loved it and I know you will too!
