Chances are, right now, you have everything you need in your pantry to create the incredible homemade seasoning for this Chicken Lazone. Think Cajun chicken meets Italian comfort food… odd couple, yes. But boy is it a match made in heaven!! This a quick and easy recipe that, guaranteed, your family will want seconds AND leftovers of. You seriously can’t go wrong with this dish! Spoon it over your choice of pasta or mashed potatoes.
Last week my daughter and I went on her first kindergarten field trip to Disney On Ice. It’s by far the best field trip of the year, in my opinion. Who doesn’t love a Disney show?! The trip always starts off a little rough as the kids are told to dress in long sleeves and pants in preparation for being in an ice area. Enduring the scorching sun and humidity here in South Florida in an unairconditioned school bus is NOT so fun when 20 kindergarteners are telling you they’re melting like Olaf and are soooooo thirsty. Lucky for my daughter, mommy had water in her purse and was able to keep HER hydrated. Once we arrived we took our seats and the show began right away. The kids were totally mesmerized by all the characters, songs and stunts that no one even noticed Layla and I were sharing a big bag of cotton candy. (hehe) I placed her on my lap with her back towards the class and we ate, sneakily. She felt very devious eating her treat when she knew no one else had any… perks a kid enjoys when mom is with them on their field trip! 😉 Gotta make it special and memorable, right!? That also includes picking out a toy or two for you and your baby sister and hiding it in mommy’s purse for later. We were fully aware not to make anyone feel jealous. Cuddling together during the shown is always fun too, as well as belting out Frozen’s “Let It Go” together as Elsa sings. We had a blast her and I! I LOVE spending that 1:1 time with my kids. It’s rare since there are 5 of them, but boy is it special. I can assure you none of them take it for granted when they’re alone with me. They cherish it. I wish I could make it happen more often. I know the memories we made on this little field trip will last her a lifetime time and that’s exactly what I was going for! 🙂
The rub for the Chicken Lazone is homemade, but don’t let that scare you. It’s SUPER easy and fast. Be sure to use all the seasoning on your chicken, don’t let any go to waste. Whatever is on your chicken is what’s going to flavor your sauce too, so use it! This is not a spicy dish. All my kids ages 3 to 10 eat this with no complaints. One of our favorites for sure AND it’s naturally gluten free!!
