This Bistro Shrimp Pasta, a Cheesecake Factory copycat recipe, is crispy battered shrimp in a basil-garlic-lemon cream sauce. The fresh aromas of lemon, basil, garlic and tomato will have you salivating in anticipation of that first bite. Don’t worry, it’ll live up to the heavenly smell in your kitchen and may even surpass the real deal! Oh my goodness, is this one GOOD!
Have you ever gone to a restaurant and studied a dish you’re eating only to come home and try to recreate it? That’s exactly what I did with this recipe from Cheesecake Factory and after I tried three times, I finally got it right. A couple weeks later I returned to Cheesecake Factory and ordered it again. Much to my surprise, I liked MY version better. Yeah baby! Seriously, they must have been having an off night cause there is no way I just created something better than the best, right?
The basil-garlic-lemon cream sauce actually has NO lemon juice in it, only lemon zest which means you get that wonderful, fresh lemon flavor without the bitterness of the juice. It’s the kind of sauce you want to drink using a ladle in both hands with no one watching. Mmmmm yeah. It’s THAT good.
The crispy battered shrimp uses panko, Italian seasoning and garlic. I used shrimp with the tail on for picture purposes, but shrimp with tail off would be most preferable.
