My name is Crystal Dangerfield and I am so excited to bring you tried and true recipes that my whole family and I enjoy together. I love being in the kitchen and trying new recipes. Of course we have our favorites, but my kids are pretty good sports about trying new things. I refuse to buy ready-made frozen meals and refrain from fast food. My kids do not know what a “happy meal” is and I want to keep it that way! My husband was diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease several years ago and I have had to learn how to alter recipes into gluten free versions that the whole family still loves.
My husband and I have been married for 14 years and we have 5 children, three girls and two boys. Five kids in seven years… and yes, we own a TV! I work as a Registered Nurse in the ER and my husband is a Lieutenant for the Fire Department. His full time job at home has become making all my Pinterest dreams come true. Since he has proven himself to be quite the craftsman, he opened up his own ETSY shop where he sells custom children’s loft beds, shelving, storage units and can pretty much create anything your little heart desires. Check him out at Dangerfield Woodcraft on ETSY!
When we’re not building, blogging, saving lives or helping with homework we volunteer in our children’s classrooms. I’m currently serving as room mom for all 4 of my school age children, am the Activity Days Leader for the 8-11 years old girls in our church and am also a contributor to The Girl Who Ate Everything.
As you can gather, everything about our lives is pretty fast paced. A bustling household and fast paced careers, our feet hit the ground running every morning we wake up. Our kids have never been in daycare. We have been so fortunate to alternate our work schedules so one of us can always be home with them. We frequently get the question of “with one of you working all the time, how did you manage to have 5 children?!”. We make our time together count! Haha! I married an exceptional man who helps with laundry, carpooling, homework, cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and yet still makes time to rub my feet when I get home from my long shifts at the hospital! I’m one lucky girl!
